"Music has been a part of my life since I began taking lessons at the age of 4.  While I always enjoyed playing music, I remember not liking my lessons; whether it was the music I was playing, or the teacher's style, I dreaded going to see my teacher.  When I became a music teacher, I promised myself that my students would have FUN as well as learn how to play.  They should be able to do both.  I believe that musical concepts can be taught through any type of music.  As a result, I have students who play/sing everything from classical to Lady Gaga.

I have a Bachelor's in Music, emphasis in Music Therapy, from Willamette University, and have been teaching in the Bay Area for 12 years.  In 2005, I was invited to be part of a choir that sang in Carnegie Hall, and in 2010, I chaperoned several of my aspiring high school musical theater students on a trip to New York to experience Broadway.

I currently teach violin, viola, piano, voice, and beginning guitar.  In addition, I teach students with special needs, from Autism to learning disabilities, and everything in between."
