Biography:
Jezer Dedascalou is an accomplished musician with over eighteen years of classical training, and seven years of training experience.
In her childhood, Jezer performed for the Musician Teacher’s Association of California (piano), where she was tested and individually evaluated. Jezer’s Foundational flute instruction was with Teresa Orozco Petersen. From 1997-2003 Jezer attended college at San Jose State University and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Flute performance, where Isabelle Chapius Starr taught her. In addition, she has studied privately with Tim Day. Jezer has performed in master classes under Doriot Dwyer, Robert Stallman, and Randy Bowman from 2000-2002; and also attended flute master classes at Domaine Forget in Quebec, Canada in 2001 and in 2006 under Emmanuel Pahud and Jeffrey Khaner.
In piano, Jezer continued her private training with Anna Poklewski and Barbara Wilkins also gave Balance Training to Jezer. This taught her the importance of healthy posture and its crucial role in playing music comfortably, which enables musicians to give their finest performances.
In addition to her performances in the flute master classes listed above, Jezer has played piano for the San Jose Youth Symphony (2000-2001); and was a piano accompanist for Soli Deo Gloria Children’s Choir (2000-2001). Jezer also continues to do orchestral flute performing with the Saratoga Symphony.
